The nose makes the price

After Eriks fantastic Jumbo Pegas.
Here’s the Nakajima Pegas ST* version.
The robot with the ultra fragile nose.

* I’m not 100% sure about his correct name . Is it a ST or DX version.

Rock’n’Ramble

1978 Takemi Ramble Giant. You love his style or hate it.

The anachronistic tin-robot-look of his body is very special.
I like him.

Chogokins invade Germany

When you see this pile of boxes, what do you think?
Well, boxes with big white stickers.
But THIS was the vain attempt to invade germany with chogokins
in the early 70ties.

Popy, Takatoku etc boxes where “localized” with simple stickers.

There are Ark, early Bandai boxes that are much better “localized” for the
german market. After the big success of Captain Future in the early 80ties
in germany Popy released german boxed versions of their CF toys.

Sorry Matt, no spectacular german box design ;-)

Shogun Warriors: GUILTY!

Mattel’s Shoguns are guilty. They transform me
into an addicted robot collector. All my childhood
memories flashed back, when I found that boxed
Shogun Warriors Dragun in the early 90ties.

I must have them all!
Well, after many years I still didn’t reach that goal…

…but this Daimos 2in1 is another important step forward for me.
Got him last week from france.

Parlez vous francais Monsieur Daimos?

You know you want one of these..

I’m totally into the inflatables right now. All the companies made them of just about every character. Keep an eye out for a group shot coming soon.

Clover Gundam Sofubi

Filed under: Co. CLOVER,Daily Money Shots,Erik Sjoen — erik sjoen @ 2:05 pm

I’m a huge fan. If it comes in a little plastic purse for me to carry around I love it even more. These are the red headed stepchildren of Gundam collecting for a reason. They are absolutely terrible. They are “BAD”. In my opinion they are Michael Jackson “BAD”. Or as Run D.M.C. would say “Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good!”. Yep.

スーパーロボット・マッハバロン Mach Baron Talker

Filed under: Toy News — Josh Fraser @ 11:58 pm

Something special arrived in the mail last week.

Mach Baron holds a special place in my robot psyche. This Masudaya talker represents the classic primitive steampunk qualities that I love about the design and distills them into a toy, that to me is one of the most beautiful and elegant in it’s simplicity.
Feel the funk personified.
