OTHER POPY DIECAST
Chokinzoku
The Chokinzoku was planned to be a series of large-size (18") diecast robots featuring a copious use of metal and countless gimmicks. Unfortunately, Popy's experiment with the Chokinzoku series began and ended with this Tetusjin 28 piece.

Big Scale Ships

The giant robots featured in the Super Sentai series of live-action television shows were often ferried around in giant spacecraft. Popy created a series of large-sized "carrier" spaceship toys, collectively known as "Big Scale," to mimic the effect. Bandai continued the tradition after absorbing Popy into their corporate structure in 1983.

Eternal Masterpiece Series (1984 Reissue Series)

Bandai reissued several of their more popular Chogokin pieces in 1984 under the name "Eternal Masterpiece Series." Featuring the character's name (often humorously misspelled) embalzoned in bold English across the boxes, they are easily distinguished from previous incarnations. With the exception of Mazinger Z, which was specially gold-plated for this series, the toys and accessories seem to be unchanged from previous versions.

Etarnal Hero Series (1986 Reissue Series)

Not to be confused with the Eternal Masterpiece series, the Etarnal (sic) Hero Series was yet another attempt by Bandai to wring a profit out of their old molds. The matte-finished, sepia-toned boxes really set these reissues apart. Each box prominently features the English words "Etarnal Heroes Series" and the Japanese characters for "reissue." Similar to the Eternal Masterpiece Series, the toys themselves seem to be identical to previous versions.

Soul of Chogokin - GX series (Bandai)
The Soul of Chogokin series was originally unveiled by Bandai in early 1997. Designed to appeal mainly to nostalgic adults rather than children, and featuring price tags to match, the gimmick-packed Soul of Chogokin diecasts are among the most exquisite versions of famous giant robot designs ever produced.
