3/31/98: Chat is Cool!

Last night's 1st Cafe Chogokin Chat was excellent! Although a number of people had technical difficulties, turn-out was good and the topics were cool! Thanks especially to Michael, Tom and Pat, who really made it a pleasure, and to Tom Franck who contributed breifly via, er, imp-telephony! Also thanks to the mysterious "Meat" who confounded us with his fake Star Wars gibberish.
Topics ranged from the new Great Mazinga Chogokin, to Takara Dougram 1:48 toys, to Hong Kong dealers, to going to Japan. The next chat will be the same time, next Monday night at 21:30 EST.

In the meanwhile, I will be working on the Tech faq for the Cafe. Please be sure to write in with any difficulties you have logging in. I will scour the virtual earth to find the One True Chat Client so that everyone can partake.

(Abov pic. from Vintage Toy shows a variation of the Getta G Dragun diecast. I have never seen this pictured anyplace else. Info, anyone?

[God Mazinga] 3/30/98: God Mazinga!

Since the rerelease of Go Nagai: All His Works (currently available at Toyko Kid in Cambridge, MA) I've seen more and more Go Nagai characters which I've grown up ignorant of.

God Mazinga is one of them. If anybody has any information on God Mazinga anime or toys -- particularly if a diecast exists -- please drop a line, via e-mail or on the Bulletin Board.

3/29/98: We're Live!

My DNS is acknowledged, and Toybox DX is officially launched! (Remember to click reload as you revisit.)

Thanks much to Tom Vigneau, Duncan Hsu and Roger Seto for checking out the work in progress over the last 6 weeks. Thanks also to IMC Online and 321Website for superior technology solutions. Instant gratification = the Future!

3/1/98: Bertrand Russell Sez...

"The spirit that aims at creating rather than possessing has a certain fundamental happiness, of which it cannot be wholly robbed by adverse circumstance...Those who have found it are freed from the tyranny of fear, since what they value most in their lives is not at the mercy of outside power."
Bertrand is smart, and he inspires me to thought. Still: I bet a six-pack of Kargosaurs that his toy collection sucks.
