TOYBOXDX: Mr. Hentaro, it's an honor to speak with you. First off, I'd just like
to tell you that ToyboxDX voted your Boss Borott diecast as the 1998 Toy
of the Year. Would you mind if we asked you a few questions?
KANZEN HENTARO: Thank you very much! It's really wonderful that you selected one of my
company's products as Toy of the Year! I'd be happy to answer your
questions.
TB: We'd like to hear a bit about your background. Do you have any sort of
special training as an artist or designer?
KH: No, I haven't had any specialized training at all. I've been
building plastic models since I was about five, though, and my father is
a blacksmith. So ever since I could remember, creating things has been
the obvious way of life for me.
TB: So why toys, specifically?
KH: Because I've lived with and loved character toys and models ever
since I was a little kid.
TB: Please tell us a bit about how you founded your store.
KH: It's just because I wanted to make toys that I was interested in.
TB: So how do you go about just MAKING something? What about the licensing?
KH: I don't think - I just make the toys I want to make. But you're
right, getting licenses has been terribly difficult.
TB: Do you have anything new in the works?
KH: Yes. I'm currently producing a full-action, diecast Minerva X toy.
TB: Have you met Nagai Go, by the way? Has he said anything regarding your
Boss Borott?
KH: No, I've never met Nagai Sensei. And I haven't heard anything from
him regarding Boss Borott, either....
TB: Anything you'd like to say to your fans overseas?
KH: Personally, I still can't believe I even have fans overseas! I'm
really, honestly surprised!
TB: Thank you very much!
