Huh...not very roboty, but I really like these. I wonder if they can be disassembled easily in order to replace the rubber bands if they break. I don't know anything about kumiki, but I just did a quick search and found this 60's zenmai-style robot.
I like the idea of eco-friendly/sustainable toys. Wish there were more of 'em out there. I was actually researching these guys last week, and I was honestly considering contacting them about getting into the racket! Well, more specifically, designing a big doofy robot to go along with their cars, trucks, and other stuff...
