New Revoltech Thread Untouched by the Masses

Posted by Gcrush
Madoka figma crossed with HG Gundam AGE. For some reason, this has become a meme.

I asked if I have "Time For L-Gaim" but I got "No Reply From The Wind".

More, please. That first shot of the two of them wearing Titus and Sparrow limbs actually looks pretty ass-kickin'.

Hey, I found the original image from that store display.

Strangely, there are very few other Homura Sparrow pics. I can't find a source for that pic of Homura dressed up as the Gafran but this repost shows that she can transform:

Okay, I think we never need to talk about this again.

How to modify your Gunpla for Figma compatibility
That is an excellent thing to point out actually. Even if you don't care about girly robots, I'm sure someone on TBDX wants to power up their Figma Robocop. WHO WILL BE THE FIRST

Attention Robocop Fans: Hot Toys is revisiting the Robocop license and making a 1:6 scale Cain.

I'd honestly rather have a Clarence Boddicker figure.

Actually...I'd really prefer that they reissue (or ideally retool) Robocop, himself!

That there might just be the absolutely most unlikely action figure ever. I love it!

Supposedly, a new Robocop is also on the way.
Sanjeev (Admin)
Eeeeexcellent!

And why would Clarence be unlikely!? He's a highly underrated villain. Granted, his reprisal of the role in That 70's Show was a bit toned down for tv, but he was still great!

THIS. This is my favorite Robocop toy ever.

I'ma just touch him a little.

You know, I have a vague memory of a Drugstore knock-off 12" (or larger) Robocop that seems based on that design. I can't place it at the moment, and I'm too damn lazy/busy to look it up, but... I think it came on a goofy huge card, too. And made those awful 1980s car-alarm/gun noises. Does anyone else remember this?

Figma is a very diverse line
Wow, I didn't even know that was coming out. The headsculpt is a little soft up close, especially compared to the well-defined arms and sharp, precise armor, pouches, etc, but the overall effect of the figure is fantastic.

Yup, I'll have to grab one or two of those. Sweet.

Wicked Muv Luv Alternative Su-37M2 is on my wish-list! Frauline Revoltech Meiya isn't as nice looking as the Figma, IMO. They should have started with Kryska Berchanowa, if they had any sense...

How would that be possible? The mind boggles.

I still have the old Xebec/Kaiyodo diecast version from a decade ago. It's nifty, but the Revoltech looks nicer. That shit was previewed in the earliest sci-fi Revoltech inserts, too. 'Bout time it came out.
I still have two of the diecast marauders. Hmm. Not sure if I also need Revoltech ones.

I have like four of the diecast ones and all but one are broken. I think only my white one survived... Two greens and a tan are wrecked. I did buy someone else's broken powered suits at the summit, to perhaps part-swap my way to a few complete copies.

-Paul Segal

"Oh, the anger is never far, never far." -SteveH
What broke on yours? Mine are both fine.

-Ginrai
Golden Gate Riot on dead trees at: [www.destroyallcomics.com]
One had a hip joint break off, another had a shoulder joint break, the third had the hatch hinge break. The hatch problem may have been that something that's supposed to be glued together came apart. That also happened to another shoulder joint on one of these - the joint is fine, it just needs to be re-glued to the torso with some adhesive that can support the weight of the metal forearm.

-Paul Segal

"Oh, the anger is never far, never far." -SteveH
Weird. I would wonder if you got unlucky and got a bum toy, but that's a pretty high failure rate. Maybe I'm just lucky? Were yours Japanese or the US carded releases?

-Ginrai
Golden Gate Riot on dead trees at: [www.destroyallcomics.com]
I've had the same problems as Paul with the Powersuits. I had three of the Japanese boxed releases and one each of the US carded. 50% failure rate, with the culprits being:

1) Too much friction and torque from the metal on the plastic in the joints.
2) Clearances between moving parts that were too narrow.
3) Pieces being glued in place during assembly.

The last one was a doozy. The first figure I got had a frozen waist and upper thigh joints. I had no idea the toy could move in those places until I picked up the additional ones at a huge discount. And some of the other ones broke at the elbows, cockpit hinges, and cannon pivot. Would have been shameful, considering the original retail price.

The Revoltech versions should be more durable. And will hopefully have some rocker motion in the ankles. Mmm. But will they come with the Mongoloid pilot and freshly laid bug-egg?
Mine were ALL the U.S. carded release.

-Paul Segal

"Oh, the anger is never far, never far." -SteveH
Wow. So I guess I just got lucky.

I'm 85% sure I can see the cross from the center of a Revoltech joint inside the suit's right elbow.
