Underneath the fabric is the delicious bacon-center.

See, dreams can come true!

Dear god, this thread has truly become EPIC in the time since I last read it.

I prefer a more delicate ratio of fat to flesh than many of you guys.

Also, I found this article on meat quite interesting. It really captures the visceral experience of handling animal parts.

I had an swell pork treat for lunch on Monday, and am going to boogie on up there again today for lunch. At the Rotary of I95 and Rt 129 in Wakefield MA there's a guy with a cart and grill off the back of a pickup; Fred's Franks. Fred has created the "Schnerble". It's a sub roll with mayo, and sweet kraut (a sweet version fo sour kraut). It's then layered with a bed of sliced chorizo, and topped with a hot dog. All topped off with Choulula hot sauce.
It was AMAZING! The chorizo, and hot dog alone were very high quality and delicious. All together it made for an inventive treat. I love how pork was the condiment for a hot dog too ;-).

Paul, pork itself is epic. This thread is but a shadow of its ephemeral greatness. Or whatever. Loved the article, though. I'm even thinking of changing my INTERNETS handle...

On the loin, and close to the backbone, there is a muscle which is not much used. It is merely a cushion over the bones; this is all tender and juicy, and is considered to choice that is has been named "Sir Loin."

Mason, Choulula is da'bomb. And you're right, it totally takes pork to a new level when it becomes a condiment to other pork. My mind boggles at the implications.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!

We went to Fred's Franks just now only to round the off ramp and noticed the lack of grilling truck! We had what can only be described as the feelings the Griswalds had when they pulled up to a "Closed for rennovations" Wall World.
So we checked his website and he's in studio filming for The Phantom Gourmet today, a local foodie TV show.
A makeup trip iss scheduled for tomorrow. Pictures to follow.

Make 'em sexy, ya' hear!?
I'm still in Louisiana.

They use chunks of HAM as a seasoning for SALAD. ha! How great is that!

Plus they deep fry almost anything that doesn't move.
Hell, they were trying to deep-fry me as well, and I WAS moving. Well, twitching anyway...
MONDAY NIGHT PIGS ENJOY A MIDNIGHT SNACK, TOO!

We were experimenting in the kitchen the other day and I came up with what is possibly the greatest food ever, Bacon cooked in Duck fat...Yes it's as good as it sounds and then some.
My favorite pork.

Boil your pork ribs in Pabst Blue Ribbon with some pepper corns and garlic cloves. Just until the meat comes off the bone.

Drain them, then smother em' in Noh Hawaiian BBQ sauce.

Put em on the firey Q and sear in that flavor.

Yum.
Bacon cake ='s delicious madness.

Bacon chocolate ='s delicious chocolate madness.

Pabst bacon ='s green apple two-steps (because of the Pabst, not the pig)

Duck fatted bacon ='s heaven-and-earth delight

MONDAY SOMETHING PORK RETURNS AND IT NEEDS LOVE, TOO!!!

that little pig in the can is about as cute as it gets.

If pigs didn't end up growing into such large sizes and with such disturbing visages (just like us gol-dang hoomans), I'd really consider having one as a pet.

And I'd feed the little bastard bacon, too.

When I was but a young strapping lad working as a stir fry cook at a popular Chinese place, my fellow cooks and I would take great pleasure at the end of each night when dumping dollops of old sweet and sour pork into the "hog bucket" that was taken away each week and fed to happy pigs at local farms. Ahhh, cannibalism....is there anything finer?

Will said pictures be of questionable taste, indecent, lewd, or otherwise naughty*?

We, the bacogokins in the TBDX audience, can only hope.

*And I don't mean pig-nipple naughty. But, well, pig-nipple naughty would certainly do.

I'm going to say if there were an aopropriate group of people to unleash pig roast nipplery on this wouldn't be the crowd. So unfortunately they will just be pictures of people enjoying an entire pig.
Though there will be alchohol so who knows?*
-Mason

*I like your footnote idea and so stole it to let you know that I don't drink so the alcoholness won't lead to nipple-trocities. At least not of my doing.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Pig roast is cancelled :-( Apparently 1.5 week's time is insufficient to acquire a whole pig to roast.

So, uh, no pics then? Well, I certainly feel slighted. Shame on them!

For reals about not being able to get a whole hog? That seems odd. It's not like we're talking about condor eggs or something...
