LOVE those colors! Nice work, Ken!

Awesomely Seventies.
Cool project Ken!

Model kits with springy-thingies! Gotta love em.

Do the forearm blades spin on this kit?

I think this Dragun had the least dorky boots (mostly centered) of the series. =0p
wow, awesome work!
pretty cool.
Thanks y'all!

Spin they do, and the fists fire! Agreed on the boots. The Raider (Getter 2) I'm working on is wearing concrete galoshes.

The original Getta Robo series kits are definitely worth tracking down too.

That Getter 3 is awesome. Here's the Shogun Warriors version of Getter 2, "Raider":

I lack the skill to replicate the yellow paint operation on his chest from the box art, unfortunately:

Thanks, Ken-A

Love these goofballs...and their wild color schemes!

Anyway, couldn't you replicate that paint op by enlarging the image, photoshopping it up, and creating some kind of stencil from it?
Ha... I had the "Raider" (was totally confused as a kid since I didn't know who Getta 2 was at the time...). I especially remember the spring connected claws...

Great job painting them to Monogram's "specs" Ken!
I think the Chairman has a built up Getta 2, as well. Very lovely.

Oh, yeah, the Bandai, reissue kits of the Gettas from around '98 or so, as well as the super-duper awesome Mazinger secret base bubble dome kits, are the ones I have. Scoring some originals would sure be cool though.

To clarify, my Raider is a Bandai re-release Getter 2 kit: [www.hlj.com]

So, blue had to be painted red, and vice versa, to get the colors "right." :)

Nice Ken!
Here's mine with the o.g. colors...

ken & parisi, man, is there any vibe I don't share with y'all? I had that model and it was great.

the chest missiles where the most powerful I'd ever seen - Karza gut missile had nothing on those. the Rayden was pretty great as well, with working springed bow & arrow if I remember rightly.

I am seeking a plastic Popy Tora Sobu Raideen.
Yeah, I love this sculpt. Honestly, I think it's one of the best.

The Getter Dragun is great! Lemel is right, the Reideen was pretty bad ass as well.

After seeing Alt's Getter 3 I had to have one of my own. I wish I had the other two to complete the trio..

Dude, that's awesome! It's like a miniature jumbo, even the proportions seem to match with that color scheme.

I picked up the small kit of Raydeen during the same HLJ sale when I got the Getter 2. I'm hoping to paint it up like the Monogram kit at some point, but it obviously won't have the same presence as the larger kits.

Best, Ken-A
The Monogram kits can still be easily had if I'm not correct? Which ones were produced again?

Dragun
Raider (Getta 2)
Raydeen
Gaiking
Grendizer
Don't forget G-Mazinger.

It would be interesting to see how many of these "battery-foot" kits where made,

I've got a gorgeous T-28...

Found a decal in my stash for the "Raider":

It's not an exact match, but I think it works thematically. :)

Thanks, Ken-A

Matthewalt "I actually kinda LIKE that approach! You know: let's make a TOY. Remember those? Products designed to be played with without breaking? DO YOU REMEMBER, LOVE?!"

I'm obviously posting these for the right audience.

Totally missed this thread!

I've got a Raydeen waiting for the same Monogram colorway...
