wow
It reminded me of a pic I took for photo class. I reworked this sculptured nutcracker version:
Yours is obviously infinitely cooler.

LOL
You're right though. I enjoyed my ever so brief time of having a toy that made Cris jealous, but I got nothing to complain about overall. Just trying to be funny... :)

Life is short, "don't question the things that make you happy" (unless you're an utter sickie!), which is second only to "don't question the things that make other people happy (again, unless they're a real sickie!). Ha!
After enjoying your collection as a whole the past few months, where does this guy rank in the grand scheme of things?

Not at all. Some hunts have been just as enjoyable as the prey itself once caught.

This is a fascinating question. I've never really thought about it, myself...but now that I do, I really think the hunt is definitely an important part of enjoying the hobby, as a whole. At least for me. It almost seems counterintuitive because the "goal" is scoring the thing you're collecting; nothing else ought to matter. But then, I look at all the brogs, reviews, and various posts I've written in the past about a rare toy that's important enough to me to chase pretty hard...and it sure seems like those write-ups definitely spend a decent amount of time on *how* I got the thing (even if it was something very simple like: find auction, snipe auction, win auction!).
Obviously, when you put in the work and end up losing the item to someone else, you feel bummed...and conversely, when you win, that effort is justified and you feel great. Well, just because you lose an auction, that doesn't mean the hunt is over. You still take a swing at the next one that appears...and the next after that (hopefully, if the item isn't THAT rare!). And someday, when you win, ALL that previous work becomes part of a great story!
Heh...or maybe I've been a Boston sports fan for too long. ;)

I spent fifteen years going to three "mega" toys shows a year before I landed my first significant haul, a Shogun Gaiking 2-in-1 (boxed), a Daimos 2-in-1 (boxed-near mint), and a Dangard 2-in-1 in the styro, all from different vendors at the same show.
I rode that high for over a week, and as much as I enjoy purusing the endless aisles of toys at the shows I still attend, the "hunt", no matter how much fun, never felt so good as the "find".
I'm sure there's a dirty analogy in there somewhere someone will point out, but I'm still talking toys.
I'd rather call it a "rational" consolation.

And now, directly from Spain, after 15 and more years of searching.....Presenting you the one and only Mazinger-Z (fully licensed) by B.R.B. Merchandising, one of the very few complete specimen existing in the world....
They were produced in very small quantity and almost immediately retired from the market due to (obvious) troubles caused by totally insane spring-loaded shooting fists device....

Weird. Those safety laws against insanely strong springs were only introduced somewhere in the mid 1990s in Europe (which explains why so many toys from 1990-1993 have INSANELY strong spring-loaded weapons that will happily launch missiles for over several feet at high velocity - or into someone's eye). So this toy must have been truly extreme to be withdrawn from the market so quickly.
How far do the fists launch?
