Can this be right?

I know there have been people complaining about posting"live" auctions up here and making the cost go up, but I REALLY don't think there is much of a problem here.
I have only seen a small Godiakin of this toy and never a Jumbo. Is this a knockoff, the real deal, a good price or is this seller over estimating what he has?
No matter what, there is no way I can afford this at this price!

We got belt buckles, shoe laces, and a piece of gum build a nuclear reactor for crying out loud. You used to be MacGyver, MacGadget, MacGimmick, and now you are now 'Mr. MacUseless'. Dear God I am stuck on a glacier with MacGyver!Sam Carter

dude, the principle is that don't post live auctions, so no matter what, don't post.
the leopardon is a real jumbo and there are 2 versions of the chogo.
so don't post anythig if it is a live auction. you are doing yourslef a serious disservice.
i am not a jumbo collector is the real sense (in that i have nvevr really bought a jumbo anywhere near the the auction price) but if the idea is don't post live auctions then don't post anything. otherwise you are doing yourself a disservice.

Actually, the service I wanted was to see if this thing was the real deal. It's not a disservice to me if anyone else buys this Jumbo and more power to the one who can afford $2000.00 for a toy because I know I can't.

And if the photo is hosted by eBay and IT NOT MINE!!!!!!!
How can I legally do that?
I apologize if I have misused this board by posting this live auction. It was not my intention to do that. If posting live auctions it forbidden, I was unaware of this rule.

You can "legally" do it in the same way anyone posts a picture here:
[ img ]http://i21.ebayimg.com/01/i/01/7a/0e/63_1_sb.JPG[ /img ]
Delete the spaces inside the brackets, and voila!
The reason people don't like live auctions being posted here is because of common sense -- increased publicity = potentially higher price. It's particularly rude if you aren't bidding on the item in question yourself. Why make life more difficult for those who are?
At any rate, yes, the Leopradon is real, and yes, the price is high (though not out of line for one in such nice condition.)
BTW, you can check out Sean Bonner's Jumboland for images of a lot of the Jumbo toys.

Thanks Matt, For some reasaon I am unable to get the link on the Link-O-Rama to work to get me to Sean's site on my computer at work. I was trying to find the toy there but could not. I'll try the link you posted there and see what happens. (Even though I think the problem is the computer and not the link.)
As for this:
"The reason people don't like live auctions being posted here is because of common sense -- increased publicity = potentially higher price. It's particularly rude if you aren't bidding on the item in question yourself. Why make life more difficult for those who are?"
One of the greatest resources on this site FOR NEW PEOPLE IN THE HOBBY is this web board. To be able to ask "experts" about an item to see if it is in line with an appraised value or if it is a legit item can help the new comer to not be taken for ride as they learn about the items in which they have an interest.
Now don't get the idea that if they don't understand about a hobby or product they should not "get into it." I've heard that arguement before. Just think, If NO NEWBIES take an interest in the Hobby of Japanese toy robots, this $2000.00 Leopradon will be in perfect mint condition on the bottom of a landfill because all the experts are dead and no one else cares. COMMUNICATION is what will keep the Hobby going.
I've only been looking at reliving my Jumbo years for about 2 years now. I only owned 2 as a child but I loved them. Now I want to see more. Seans site is great but was not available to me at the time I found this. If anyone is afraid that the price of this toy will go out of site because of this post has nothing to fear, it already is.

$2000 may seem like a lot of money to you or me, but believe me when I tell you there are people who would be happy to pay that "little" for certain toys. One collector's "out-of-sight expensive" is another collector's "steal." It's all relative, my friend.
And for the record, who said anything about not asking questions, or keeping anyone out of the hobby? We're talking about posting links to active auctions. Apples and oranges. (And for the record, this isn't some kind of prohibition. It's a request for courtesy towards your fellow toy-freak. Thass' all I'm sayin'! No hard feelings! Just thought you'd like to know.)

P.S. Like many other portions of this site, the Link-O-Rama is waaaaaay out of date. We need to go in there one of these days and freshen it up....!
