I actually thought that was the less awful of the two.

Do kids buy these? Do Star Wars collectors buy these?
where's the awkward cockpit gimmick
They've dropped that gimmick in the later waves.

Haven't touched one. I LIKED the idea of the line but the execution has been a weak effort.

I asked if I have "Time For L-Gaim" but I got "No Reply From The Wind".
I remember a couple years back looking in the Transformers/Star Wars aisle at a Walmart with my wife. She took a look at the Star Wars Crossover items there and made some negative comment to me about them. I said something fairly derogatory myself and we both chuckled about it. Then we turned around and saw some poor long-haired ponytail nerdy guy holding one of them and furtively not trying to look at us. Poor guy.

Really? I thought it looked a whole lot better than the Anakin Skywalker. Maybe it's supposed to look like Kup, but it looks more like a fur lined hood.

My roommate recently bought the Marvel/TF Cross over Captain America. She was very excited b/c it's Captain America. I tried to smile, approving of her choice of investing in a transforming robot, rather than an action figure.

The colors are just gawd awful in Cap & Humvee modes. She also wants the Wolverine one, you know...the sky blue & lemon yellow jeep?

You guys are coming at these things from the wrong angle. They're actually some of the most brilliant toys out there right now. They literally exude the sheer "what-the-fuck-ness" of toys from the 1970s. The glorious illogic, firing projectiles, and fuck-all proportions are exhilarating. If they were diecast, they'd be Contemporary American Arklon.* The only downside is that they're a mash-up of existing licensed properties instead of being original designs.

* And should you have no idea what an Arklon is, it means you are a soul devoid of any redeemable aesthetic sensibilities. Shame on you.
Given that Disney bought out Marvel, maybe we'll see a Mickey-Optimus-Spiderman, that transforms.

Well, if these monstrosities convert more Stars Wars & Marvel fans in TF fans, that means more money for Takara-Tomy/Hasbro. Which could result in more transformers. Of course, in all likelihood, they'll release crossover figures like these instead of, I dunno, classic 3.0?
That Anakin Skywalker is godawful.

I like the bad toupee look Anakin's has going on.

And a Donald Duck one as well, in yellow, Halloween, and B&W color schemes as well.

How about why Star Wars alone just won't die? I'd thought it be all over once ROTS was finished.

Actually, the Clone Wars animated show is a significant improvement on the prequel movies. It does all the character development we wished we saw in those.

I'm just sick of Star Wars period.

Good to see I'm not the only one. My roommates were disturbed when I said I wasn't a fan of Star Wars...that there are better robots out there than C3PO.
B00
How many Han Solo in Hoth gear or Jedi Luke Skywalker's do we really need?

Eh, I understand perfectly. From the standpoint of being a fan, I went a looooong time not being a fan of Star Wars. The Clone Wars stuff brought me back. That and my kids being into it now. However, as an old/new again collector of Star Wars stuff, the new figures are eons better than the old for articulation and accurate sculpt. Whereas the older robot toys are fantastic for the "funk" aspect of their toy designs as opposed to the modern takes on them, it doesn't apply quite as well to older Star Wars figures, unless you go back to the VERY beginnings of the line.

90's Star Wars stuff? Very blech.

I haven't bought anything Star Wars since the 80's.

I haven't bought anything Star Wars. I liked Robotech and Transformers much better :)

Normally, I'm all for hating on Star Wars because, oddly, I just NEVER got into it even as a kid in the 80's.

Further, I've always loved Lego and I think the Star Wars Lego's have not only sucked immensely, but they've seemed to have started a bit of a downward spiral with Lego. Now, there are less and less complicated sets with numerous basic bricks. They've been moving more towards fewer, more specialized bricks. Less fun. Less imaginative.

That all said...I saw the latest AT-AT set in a shopping mall recently. Oh fuck damn, it was hot! It looked really complex and made of non-specialized bricks. I probably woulda gotten it, but it was over $100, if I recall correctly. Maybe someday...

Anyway...uh...back to Transformers..?
OK, I've generally despised the crossover Star Wars TF's, but this one is just SO weird that I'll have to get it:

That TF Yoda is easily one of the best toys I've ever seen.
Eriku, I didn't know you were into green toes.
I want it too. But somehow, I was hoping Yoda would get the full electronic treatment like the Death Star and the Millenium Falcon...

It's $44.99 at BBTS. $44.99 seems too low for just a pre-order price and $130.00 seems too high for retail. Maybe $130.00 is the price for a case of three.

I'm liking the look of this.....thing. Maybe because it has a nice color scheme and based on a droid rather than a human character.

It's like a Beast Machines Vehicon vehicle mode that changes into a Maximal robot mode! Rather tempting.

Although I have no clue from which Star Wars movie it is - I haven't seen anything beyond the first 3 originals.
