If a modern robot toy can't do a nice, relaxed, moderate A-stance than I get mad at it. (Think the stance that all of the Gundam Fix design art has - they even have occasional articles in hobby magazines about how to get your kits and figures into that pose at just the right angle.)

What Unicron really needs is a flight stand for zero-gee.

Why?

I thought the "hip problem" in Heavy Labor was in the fore and aft rotation of the legs and not the side to side?
B00
Fortunantly Neckbreaker comes with a complete hip replacement for Heavylabor. Heavy labor should consider using a walker and he needs to drink more Ensure so this wont happen again.

cuz it's kind of goofy that his shins are so thick he has to stand all knobby kneed like this

It's silly to me :3

SRX managed to turn R-3's creamy thighs into a pair of solid trunks. TFC needs to go for full Japanese over-engineering if they wanna make real collector's toys that break out of the package

Cliffjumper with a non Choro-Q vehicle mode is weird
Huh. Feels like a completely original transforming car robot design... with a Cliffjumper head.

well the skinny arms and legs with huge feet and body are essentially like the Choro Q toys.

plus Cliffjumper was kinda weird and tall in the first issue of the Marvel comic

only Raksha wants this
I am unclear on why you'd want a tiny pretend Pretender for your upgraded non-Pretender Pretender figure, but I'm sure somebody wants them.

I agree with VF5SS on the Nightbird. I thought she was lame when I saw her on the cartoon as a kid, and my opinion has not changed.
Sanjeev (Admin)
Well...it kinda-sorta works, right?

I mean, the modern toy is patterned after the G1 Pretender shell...so the lil not-Thunderwing is the actual non-shell robot inside. Seems reasonable to me...

It's funny because modern toy technology has allowed people to recreate a tiny brick robot that turns into a tiny flying brick.
I happen to like blocky robots. The blocky vehicle mode doesn't quite fit with the super sleek Generations figure's jet mode, but I like the idea enough to grab them. I might just buy all three for the sake of having a little modern Metalhawk even if I'm not going to get the hideous Botcon Metalhawk.

Oh jeez I actually do kind of want one. But... a hundred freakin' dollars? How big is it?

I like Thunderwing, and I like the idea of an add-on inner robot for the new toy. But I hate the design of the new toy, so I don't care about the add-on. It's a paradox.

Oh I see, based on the guy's hand in the first pic it looks like Nightbird is only about 1.6 tape measures tall. That sucks.

Because we have a tendency to agree so much...I actually think Thunderwing's one of the better things to come out of HasTak's CHUG line (yes, I'm using that acronym). It was a really cool toy to me.

Anyway, as Sanjeev suggested, the way the new toy docks to the nose is accurate. Too bad the jet mode overall is not.

That fake chibi Thunderwing has a worse jet mode.

How is that possible

Why not just make a new design with a similar head? There's probably some IDW thing they can ripoff.
B00
I got the last two devy bits today! This thing is awesome!

Purdy.

Now, what was the story on the clear red gun?
B00
He made it from cherry jell-o.

Buh?

He who...?
Each toy comes with a solid purple piece of the big gun and also an identical clear red piece
Sanjeev (Admin)
Ah...well, is the clear red in reference to something? The purple makes obvious sense, but was there a scene in a comic or some shit like that featuring Devastator's gun glowing or melting or something like that?
I think they wanted to justify using the gun pieces as smokestacks in the components' vehicle modes without just giving him another straight purple big rifle.

And then a bunch of people bitched about wanting to just have two purple rifles.

you really need to take a stand on this toy and tell people it's terrible, Peaugh

I did

have the courage
Sanjeev (Admin)
I don't think he can anymore...can he? Now that peaugh does official reviews for a retail website, that's a bit of a conflict of interest, no?

[Granted, this G2 Ramjet is an exclusive for *another* retail website...but still...]
Can your Hercules do this!

You still haven't made a good Devastator head

for fuck's sake
Wait, so the 'extended forearms' are replacing those parts of the individual figures, aren't they? How many freackin revision parts can this thing need??

And yeah, goddamn, how many times are they going to mess the head up.

The head thing is almost becoming a running joke...

so is his mouth always open or does he have an alternate head

That tank mode is going to look great in purple and yellow
Purple and yellow, purple and yellow, purple and yellow, purple and yellow- you know what it is.

Oof, that "rage" face is god-awful. It's like Billy Idol as Devastator. Geez, at least don't have the gnashing teeth.

Wait--what the fuck was wrong with the first set of forearms?

And for fuck's sake...can SOMEONE make a good Devastator head???
