What is the origin of the molds seen here that aren't scaled down versions of the larger Beetras designs? Were they also originally Beetras toys?

These things were littering TRUs in the US in the mid to late 90's. I know Paul posted 2003 above but that must have been for this particular run.

Yeah, those candy toys with the chrome are 2003, according to the article Vince linked.

I thought that dragonfly and his buddies were first released in America as Convertors Insectors, but apparently not.
