[MODERN VINYL] (licensed character toys, damn you!)

Posted by Sanjeev
Does this count as a licensed character?

I speak for myself and, I think, many others when I say...

To try and move past Joshb's continued attempts to 'designer' up this thread, here's a Marmit Mogera vs missile truck set that I painted up a while back for a customer.

That Mogera's pretty tight--I know the "customer" sure likes it! You should take pictures from different angles, though, because there's a decent amount of detail from the front, sides, and back.

Thanks. There are many much pics on my site, but I didn't want to stink up the thread.

Hey question. Does this thread also cover "vintage vinyl"? Before Sanjeev leg drops me.
If licensed character toys....

The rumor is, if you say "vintage vinyl" three times fast, JimboM appears in a poof of smoke, with a giant box'o wacky toys, wearing a genie hat....
cae
it's no rumor

So true regarding Jim...

Anyway, the word "Modern" is in the title... :P

I figure vintage talk--vinyl or diecast--ought to go on the vintage board.
Ok then. What constitutes 'modern'? What is the start date. Just want to clarify.

Well, the cutoff for the Vintage Board says 83, so I would say anything after that, starting with the Bandai stuff would be 'modern'.

For a couple grand, you can get the vintage.

Folks may find this interesting...

A walk-through at CCP's factory in Japan, written up by Kinnikuman super-collector, Nama-Niku:

Picked this up from the most elite of vinyl stores, Wal-mart. Totally epic.

That's one of those new Ben 10 figures, right? The "Ultimate Swampfire" is really cool. A monster made of wood and gas bubbles.

Check it! BxH Devilman Shirt/ Fig combo. I do want. Though I think its sold out now.

The sculpt has tons of love and personality. The paint is extra crispy. Gotta love the chops!

Sanjeev (Admin)
I think Ed was showing me these the other night. Fucking amazing! The removable mask is clutch.

And now...something not fucking amazing:

Isn't that last one ^^ from Great Mazinkaiserizer Skulz? =0p

That Devilman looks straight up vintage, except for the chunky hands.
I thought that Devilman set was actually super cool... like you guys said, the removable mask is fantastic. I'm still trying to figure out the KISS thing, tho... it's like someone once saw a passing glance of a Machinder while on drugs, and 40 years later decided to try and make one after having only seen Gene Simmons from behind. Why is the head angular when every other part is rounded?

Supposedly the S7 will be offering these for sale.
Love the figure, really don't need the t-shirt.
Supposedly a sweet blue one too...

Anyone seen know details about this guy? Has he come and gone or what?

Is that the Kaijuken sculpt? I always see pics of their stuff in show coverage, but never manage to score any.

Ah, I think that's it!

I was racking my brain, trying to come up with where I saw that sculpt. I'm pretty sure it's Kaijuu Ken. I think I tried to score the red one at some point...but I missed out...
Yep, Kaiju Ken.

Remembered seeing the red one, but never this one. Probably about 11-12 inches tall...
Sanjeev (Admin)
Dang, that tall, huh? Hmmm...well, I'd prefer him in standard size...just to fit in better with my other vinyls. Still lovely though!
Ahh remember the days when kaijuken toys were plentiful and you had no problem finding them? I wish they'd return so I could find this guy.
Sanjeev (Admin)
I don't think too many folks around here collect the realistic Bandai mid-sized kaiju vinyls, but BBTS just put Raymundo's bootleg Mechanikongs on clearance:

Tooru posted that a few Red Barons are being produced and if you want one, email here: shono-kikaku@m1.ffn.ne.jp ASAP. I just put in for his Zaborger.

Holy shit, what is the site for that Zaborga? I need to know the price.

Same guys. Kaijuken. I think 8000 yen. so about 100$ shono-kikaku@m1.ffn.ne.jp
Sono Kikaku just hit me back about Zaborger. Apparently these are going mega fast and even though I contacted them a day ago I'm not guaranteed one. So hit em up now and see if you can nab one.
Got one of those badass Zaborger figures pre-ordered. Was a bit of an ordeal but at the end of the day the damage is 125$ not including shipping. I believe Tooru is looking to have these in the mail by the end of December.
Sanjeev (Admin)
Holy crap, that Zaborga's amazing!

So who's this Tooru guy?

By the way, have we talked about this dope T28 from Siccaluna yet?
