I am, too, a bit surprised there haven't been more Nagai or other classic super robots in the series. But I'll tell ya what...I preordered the shit outta that Big Volfogg. Lookit me--I'm buying a modern robot toy! :P

The Getters would be almost identical to the old SOCs. I'd like to see some Nagai villain figs.

You an' me both. But the other Nagai heroes are a much safer bet... :/

Also, imagine non-separating versions of Combattler V, Voltes V, Zanbot 3, etc. I think toys like those could be popular with folks not really interested in the gattai gimmick.

I love this line more than I can say but Im terrified that bandai will stay away from robots already covered in the SOC line and that just kills me !
THere IS room for another Diecast Gaiking and alike. Some of the SOC's are going on 10 or more years old so I think newer SRC's are totally in line to be done

maybe Dynamic Pro is just stingy with the license

they should make a Baikanfu that doesn't have the stupid combination gimmick that isn't even in the show

That sucks, was hoping to have both but it's not good enough to spend exclusive money on.

It's pretty cool that they can separate.. but really stupid for being an exclusive..

I'm apparently the only one not thrilled with the metallic paint.

It *does* seem weird that they'd make Gekiryujin metallic, while leaving Choryujin normal...

No Choryujin has metallic paint.

Oh...weird. Well, in most every image of Choryujin, he looks like he's painted in normal gloss or semigloss paint, while Gekiryujin is pretty clearly metallic.

Yeah its not super noticible and its more like a pearl finish. Its like the red used on GGG in some lights it just looks gloss, I'm guessing because Gekiryujin is lighter in color its more noticible especially on the arms. In fact I think most SRC's have some pearl/metallic paint or plastic on them somewhere.

I'll hold out for a kotobukiya d-style kit

I did it's a pretty nice figure, larger than most SRC's but it's lighter than I thought but still a pretty nice figure.

Well, how about the fact that your average crummy flip phone can take higher quality photos?

Okay, okay...let's not talk shit about another man's hardware. Uh. Well, far more offensive was that the reviewer obviously didn't care enough--about the audience, about the review process, about CDX...you name it--to even ATTEMPT to pose the fucking toy properly. In almost ANY of the pics.

And it's pretty damn clear that the man has NO fucking idea what he's writing about. He's not only NOT a fan, but he didn't even bother to research what the hell he was writing about. How you gonna write a review on a basis like that? Not only are you not gonna have any clue how any of the fucking gimmicks work or what they even mean, you're just NOT going to catch all the cool shit that makes toys worth collecting and ranting about on the internet in the first place. All the little slick details--all the little nods to the source material...there's no way anyone would be able to appreciate any of the subtle design choices the toy maker made to give fans what they want...unless they're a fan, themselves, or at least do SOME kind of research beforehand, y'knowmsayin?

But y'know what the worst thing is? The fucking review is utterly devoid of any joy whatsoever. If you're not a fan of the character toy you're reviewing, your review's going to come across like a 4th grade book report you clearly don't wanna do. And who the fuck wants to read that shit? Toys are supposed to be fun. This review just took a nice, steamy shit on whatever joy fans had for the character.

And for what?

Because the fucking reviewer couldn't run a cursory ten-second Google image search to figure out how the figure's supposed to hold the gods damned Eraser Head???



Oh, and don't think that same Google image search I just ran didn't show *dozens* of fan photographs of THEIR Choryujin toys posed properly.[/rant]

Yeah, it's kind of baffling why someone would review this toy if he doesn't like Gaogaigar, isn't excited by the toy, and doesn't particularly have any insight into what he believes is wrong with it (for instance, he didn't even notice the bicep swivels the first time around).

Heh, yeah, if I already didn't like the look of the toy (and I'm a BIG GaoGaiGar and Choryujin fan) this review would totally convince me that the toy was a horrid floppy mess. As it is, I have no idea since I don't like the looks anyway and don't want to get into yet another toy line. Can someone maybe explain the way that reviews get done/assigned/parsed over at CollectionDX? Why allow someone to review something they have no interest or real expertise with?
