I sent an email to what appears to be Scott Hards' email addy. I did not get a personal reply, but it looks like my message was heard anyway. Today I received an email from their customer service person saying they talked the situation over with Scott and will be honoring the promotion. I don't think the email was referencing my case personally, so presumably this is for everyone who didn't know about the code.
I then composed another email to Scott explaining that his judicious response to people's confusion about the promo code has retained me as a loyal customer. I want to emphasize that last point - Scott Hards and HLJ did the right thing and over the past decade they have consistently done the right thing by me. Because of that I'm sticking with them. Werd.

UPDATE: Scott did receive my email and he graciously sent an apology over the mix-up with the promo code. Score one for HLJ and their rock solid commitment to customer service. Again, I want everyone to know that I give props where they are deserved.

My only issues with HLJ over the years has been in the area of speed of response to requests for assistance. Other than that, they've been great.
More serious than thou

Taking in to account the time difference, I've never had an email go longer than a business day without getting answered.
Mileage may vary, I guess.

Da Black Friday loot:
Added the AVS-98 Economy (vs Griffon) and Mark-II Standard (mirroring Ingram 1)
WHAM 1/24 Type-303 Armed Suit on centerstage. Also plonked my blue Tachi on the ceiling with some black 'blu tack'. Lightness FTW!

Glad I didn't pay full price for the Standard and Economy suits...nice looking, but no diecast = glorified HCMs.

Don't see why not; the WHAM figures are totally hollow and light as heck. :-)
I also have to say the black variety of blu-tack SEEMS stickier than the pale blue kind. I like it because it 'blends in' well with the Tachi's splayed foot pads.
> Are the stands for the Ride Armors home-made?
Nope, mostly just your standard Bandai 'Action Base 1'. The optional peg connectors are a perfect fit for the CM's Ride Armors. I simply stuck 2 of the tall arms on the same base to save some space. The Blowsperior is using a shorter arm from the smaller 'Action Base 2'.

For anyone who missed out on the 1/24 WHAM Tachikomas, Revoltech may be your second chance...
