Blah. Baikanfu SOC kicks the crap out of this... I have the vintage Baikanfu, and it at least manages to have classic funk and not cost a fortune.

Man, after seeing Gordion in full color, I can't decide if he looks worse unpainted. But to be fair to CM's, he looks exactly like his anime counterpart -which is downright ugly. This is one of those unique cases where the Godaikin version actually looks better. However, I've loved Gordion as a kid (but I still think the cartoon sucks. The big blue robot is actually pretty useless inside the anime - the red robot seems to save the day most of the time since he's always activated at the time of need), and I have a slight urge to buy this. Baikanfu was a no-brainer (I have 2 sets), but I'm having a really hard time deciding with this guy. The price doesn't help either.
Why can't CM's make their toys like Bandai? I mean, GodMars, Voltes & Daimos managed to stay true to their anime counterparts but at the same time featured more modern proportions so they didn't look too retro-hideous. CM's took 'anime-accurate' to ridiculous heights. Argh... I hate these purchasing dilemmas!

Really? You guys think it's ugly? Sure you aren't just trying to convince yourself it's ugly so as to not spend $250?
I think it looks neat. Again, for when it came out it's an interesting design.

It was the chrome on the Godaikin, wasn't it. I'm sure this will have chrome for at least the weapons.

I asked if I have "Time For L-Gaim" but I got "No Reply From The Wind".

Looks like CM's will be doing more than just Akito's Aestivalis. Excellent!
They've got Aerial frames and space frames and all that good stuff. A look at the diecast content, too.

Does CM's Orguss look almost exactly like the old Imai four-mode kit to anyone else?
(Even the neck and wing joints, and the hand sculpts, and the stylization of the vents on the legs and wing engines, and ...) Bah.
Und Humbug.

This looks pretty good. Even better than the SOC Spec one. The price (for a Brave Gokin) isn't that bad either.

Help me, ToyboxDX, you're my only hope!
I'm confused about Gordian's backstory. CM's Corp's page labels the big blue robot as Garbin & Gordian. So is Garbin the name of the individual robot and Gordian is when they combine?

To be fair, the SOC SPEC Aesti was more like an accessory, since the main focus was the Black Serena.

Cool, I didn't realize they would release this as a two pack. Although, I like the Artillery Frame better than the Aerial Frame.

I'm not sure about the wings. I really hope they include wings w/o the missle stocks (or whatever you call those thingies that attach the missile pods to the wings).
*also prays for under $100 price tag*

I don't think it's a two pack. I think it's one metal frame, with parts to make either the pink of blue one. Remember what they did with the Patlabor ones?

That would make no sense, the ONLY shared part would be the cockpit pod. Plus the name of the two pack is specifically "Ground Frame and Aerial Frame".
Even CM's couldn't get away with charging $110 for ONE 4 inch tall robot.
EDIT: Well, actually, knowing CM's they COULD. But in this case the "no shared parts other than the cockpit pod and maybe the hip joints" stands.

Pretty easy to search for since the katakana series name is in the Youtube keywords. If you want to dig around for more pics:

Kind of unrelated, but on the topic of cute-robo like this, what the heck is the five-part combining machine in this blog post?
[alma.skr.jp]
EDIT:
If anyone's curious, the second photo in that post is a papercraft kit of the main mecha from the 90s manga Break Age. Here's a mixed-media garage kit of it from an old Hobby Japan:

It's an original Chinese robot show. Don't recall the name but I think there was a thread about it somewhere on this BBS.
Thanks for the first link though. Forgot about that site.
