Wasn't it previously only available in Japan by mail order direct from Yamato? So, in a sense, sales to other countries are exclusive to HLJ.
I like that first paragraph about why a 'Prototype Replica Kit' is better than a mass-produced item. Such magnificent BS. They might as well just say, the advantage the Prototype Replica Kit has over any possible production piece is that it's REALLY BIG.

For those who aren't registered on the Macrossworld BBS, a Japanese gent has posted them on his photo hosting site. Color me impressed that this thing has a fully detailed Macross City!

Yeah, shots of the raw city (unpainted, unlit) were posted earlier in that gallery when this thing first came out. Remember? The one with, like, 600 fucking pictures of the shipping crate from slightly different angles?
Anyway, that shit is un-fucking-believable. If the toy actually came fully painted like that and with the lighting/clear window bits built in, this thing would truly be a masterpiece!

You are facing west. What will you do?

What the fuck?
So it does need a stand?
Oh...and in the cartoon, this thing's piloted by a decidedly heterosexual...alien chick. Why would it have moe/loli/whatever images of under-attired/under-aged girls on the side???

I didn't know black people were aliens now.

Hehe...Sisko...and the revolutionary decision to write an actual plot made DS9 my favorite! Still, the RARE exception...hardly the rule!
Well, you bastards made me look it up: the pilot of the Koenig Monster IS a heterosexual woman (black and non-alien). So...shouldn't she have some nekkid dudes on the side of her ship?? :P

Yeah, they HAD to write a good story arc to get their fans back from Babylon 5. It almost worked. :)

Being heterosexual doesn't mean you don't appreciate the fine, supple form of your own gender. I am certain that was the reason behind the nose art. :)
Actually, one of the motivations behind nose art in World War II was to distract the enemy pilots. Of course, the pictures should be of scantily clad Vajra to maintain that reasoning! :)

The Koenig Monster with the nose art is kind of like the VF-1 Minmay Guard Valkyries, except, in the anime the Koenig Monster actually carried Ranka on board (kind of like the VF-11D Jamming Bird Variant: [www.steelfalcon.com])
Other than sheer decoration, I think it holds the purpose of indicating which singer (aka emulator, lol) that is on board and 'inspiring' the flyboys ;)

I picture Canaria walking up to it for flight duty, seeing "monster girl" on the side, raising an irritated eyebrow and saying "Whatever." before climbing in and taking off...
