I make 3D printed mecha action figures.
It appears to be a resin garage kit toy. I believe this maker's items are cast in color and sold fully-assembled. They are also very very small.

Oh. I thought it was a Yamato release. Makes MUCH more sense for a resin kit.

Still that thing is damn sweet. Even has fast packs and landing gear.

Preorders are sold out for this already?

Mumble grumble....
They seem to be going on and off. HLJ hasn't even listed pre-orders at all.

Gad, I hate that thing. Looks like the spawn of a VF-1S raped by a Facehugger.
Yeah, suddenly I don't feel too bad anymore about my chunky VF25s...the new one is too insect-larva-in-robot-armor-like for my tastes

I will happily buy Kamen Rider Valkyrie

I think the newer version looks a helluva lot better. Of course, in order to see that, one must accept the VF-1S-raped-by-facehugger thing. But I don't quite get liking the old version, but not the new one.

I don't know why I am telling you guys this, it's just going to get ignored anyway...But, Bandai has also released criminally overlooked line of EXCELLENT Master Grade quality 1/72 scale transformable valkyries that cost less then a third of the DX toy line.
well no one ever cares about non Gundam Bandai kits

just ask the R3 line

or the Votoms line

but at least they covered all the VF-25s and VF-27s

no VF-171 though :<

but i'm not good at decals so i want a toy that's pre-painted and doesn't use polycaps
Goddammit the VOTOMS line was glorious while it lasted. So much wasted potential.

there there

at least they gave us a Brutishdog

also that line made me realize how useless the Fatty's down form is.

like how can you climb in with the legs in the way
MSW
All the Macross Frontier VF-25 and VF-27 kits come with both a light blue sheet of decals and a light green sheet of duplicate stickers. And they are molded in color and don't use polycaps. So you should have no problems then.

[dalong.net]

yeah it comes out more but it's still not right.

at least the new DX clearly has a neck in the default position

and if can't trust Dalong then there is no hope left in this world

So the neck looks okay when the head is tilted 45 degrees up from straight ahead? That's cool if you want your VF-25 to always be flying like Superman, I guess.

As for that tiny hinge at the bottom that they're using to elevate the base of the neck out of the collar area, that looks terrible.

:sigh:

These kits have been around longer than that old DX toy, they were among the first Macross Frontier goods to be released. They cost much less than the DX toy, even costing less than the part forming 1/100 toys. Unlike the DX toy, the kits are unchanged since the day they were released, the necks on all of them have always been adjustable. They have always included decals and stickers, always molded in color, and they have never used polycaps (they are practically a continuation of the R3 line).

Yeah, you have to put them together yourself (Not always a bad thing). Point is these kits are an option.
but daddy i want a toy ;-;
Sanjeev (Admin)
I didn't get the impression than anyone was ready to grab the pitchforks and torches because someone dared to make a model kit of the VF-25. I just get the feeling that most folks around here (myself included) prefer completed toys.

Or am I missing something?

I hate when people are pissed off about toys and I'm not invited! :P

The neck on my 25s is fine. The neck and head heights can be adjusted.

That's a nice comparison pic Andrew posted. For what it's trying to be, the newer version definitely looks nicer and more refined. Don't particularly care for any of these newer valks in general, but this one doesn't strike me as all that fugly. When you consider the contours and lines of the head (especially the shape of the visor), it looks remarkably like the Griffon from Patlabor. Derivative and uninteresting, maybe, but not that fugly to me.

Hmm...not really interested in having a bad drawing of Minmay plastered all over a Valk. I could handle a nicely drawn Minmay (i.e., by Haruhiko Mikimoto) on a poster or something...
