Just bought a YF-29 from Amiami and decided to get a iGear ramjet while I was on the computer lol, now I just have to wait and see how things work out with the Postal strike here in Canada. Their suppose to go back to work but they said it would take a few days to get things back up to speed so considering Friday and Monday are holidays I figure stuff will be sorted out next week with Amiami shipping out sometime after that. I'm so glad I paid 4000YEN for EMS shipping to :-(

Just had an opportunity to handle my Fire Valk - amazing. One of the best Yamato toys to date. Between this and that big Zoids Diecast they have been hitting it out of the park. Love it.

Did you get yours locally or did you succumb to eBay?

I was swooshing it around for about ten minutes before I figured out that the wings extended. The engineering on this thing is incredible.

I got mine through Amiami, had it on pre-order and as soon as the news of Canada Post going back to work I received my payment notice the next day from them. Got it about 5 days later but got hit with $27 in customs fee's. But yeah it's a pretty remarkable toy, my only problem is trying to get the head back down and forward when trying to transform it back to fighter mode, I've seen some pretty nasty pics of chipped paint because of this.

Yikes.
I can see where this might be an issue... dang this white-paint-on-red plastic problem. However, unlike Yamato's 1/60 Miriya 1J, one CAN avoid the scratches if one focuses. I wonder how to FAST packs will treat the toy, though.

I'm not sure it looks like it just slides over the wing boosters with no additional bracing. It's probably to keep the swiveling function of the wings but I'm concerned about the added weight and stress it would put on that joint. I can easily see it not being able to hold it's position over time but I hope Bandai designed this toy with the Fast Packs in mind so they should be fine over the long run unlike the original DX VF-25's.

They really just need to come out with a kit with all the heads. Nice that it comes with side covers and the seat. What is that other mystery part though?

The other part is a cover for the gap between the neck and backplate.

The VF-1J comes with the baby pod as seen in Viva Maria, episode 30.

It's probably just an inventory control thing. Or they think people will just buy the one they want. Who knows.
