Preordered. Just watching the movie now... are there any variants we should keep a lookout for?

Oh no... not this again! Dooooood... just give up already. Admitting that they re-used the CGI files from Macross Zero is the first step to recovery...
no you stop

The toy looks great, glad they pretty much did a full re-design here to make the toy even though the design is basically a re-hash of the VF-25.

I wish they did something different and I would have been more tempted to buy it.

No *you* stop! I used asterixes. They make things look more *important*.

>I wish they did something different and I would have been more tempted to buy it.

They reworked and functionalized Gerwalk mode, Mr.Gato. *That's* something *very* different.
So I won that little 1:100 Valk, for $10. I'll post info & whatnot up here when I get it, if y'all are interested. :3

I love that old 1/100 scale, have the Bandai VF-1A DYRL version. If the KO one inst too poor of quality it should be an enjoyable figure. Fingers crossed for ya.

Thanks. If nothing else I get a neat old (crappy quality) toy in a neat old box. :3 And I'm pretty sure that's the one I'm getting, which is good because the 1A is my favorite VF-1, and somehow I have yet to own a toy of it (save for a little TV Max version gashapon I have...)

Interesting way of displaying the collection:

The bootleg I have is of pretty good quality. Obviously the molding is a bit less good than the original and paint apps too, but the plastics and diecast are top-notch.
>Interesting way of displaying the collection:

I do that for my Valks too.

Yeah I know, chaotic looking display.

I asked if I have "Time For L-Gaim" but I got "No Reply From The Wind".

Quick question: what is the smallest-scale transformable VF-1 you can buy?
>Quick question: what is the smallest-scale transformable VF-1 you can buy?

See those two little ones on my display. They're transformable. Released by Kaiyodo as trading figures.

Do they part swap or are they perfect transform?

The Banpresto's are a little smaller than a 1/100 and are perfect transform as well as perfect crap.

They perfect-transform.

Mind you, that's about the only part that 'perfect' on them - Banprestos are miles ahead of them.

There's also bootlegs of them with a pencil-sharpener built in.
I could have sworn you had to parts-form with the little kaiyodo valks...

You know, you'd think that with Takara making the Smallest Transformers, someone making tiny chunky munky valks wouldn't be such a stretch...but alas.

Kind of like a "The Chogokin" line from a few years back where they did microshrunk versions of full size robots. I loved those. How cool would that be. Nothing fiddly or weird just a shrunk down version of the best and most playable version of the Valk...You know I have always felt that all of the Yamato/hi-metal/toynami/whoever the hell else other versions of the valkyrie have all felt kind of like trying to reinvent the mousetrap...novel but not better...when something is perfect it is perfect...
I have yet to get a Hi-Metal. I really want the VF-1S (I have a soft spot for the "Focker" XD )
VenomMacbeth: What can I say about the Hi-Metal VF-1S...Is it great...Nope...Is it awful...Nope...Does it fill me with an overwhelming sense of "Meh"...Yep...Do I like having it on my shelf-o-Fockers...Yep...
B00
I love the hell outa my VF-Himetal VF-1S strike. That thing is so well made, well engineered and easy to transform.

Aw, crud, I missed the "Kaiyodo" in Vince's post, so I thought he was talking about the cheap Convertors Valkyries. Whcih are perfect transform, but suck in every other aspect.

Am I the only one that actually likes those!?
Well I got that 1/100 KO valk...it's pretty awesome. The tab that holds the body halves together in battroid mode broke, but I stuck a little piece of plastic in the hole there & it holds together just fine. It also lacks rigidity in fighter mode, but I suspect that to be a takatoku-engineering problem. All-in-all, AWESOME. I need more 1/100 taka valks.

D'aww...well I dunno. Had I known it was this nice, I would have fought you for it. ;)

Also, just bought this:

Nice I got a few of those too, a VF-1J Max, and a neon orange one.

SONUVA...

What a rip...*I* was gonna do that!!

Haha...thanks for posting that, Dan. Seriously, I was gonna either paint the ceiling and back wall of the city bay with glow paint or just glue in some glow vinyl sheeting to simulate the lit "sky". Still trying to figure a way to paint the buildings, themselves, in a way that won't drive me mad.

I wasn't gonna bother doing all the windows/lights on the rest of the exterior of the ship, but now, after seeing how amazing they look on this guy's toy, I may just go ahead and do that now...
That is excellent! Looks like hundreds of tiny LEDs throughout the SDF.
Those are some really great photos in that link.
So I got that Henkei 1A...it came with WATERSLIDE DECALS!! WTF!
B00
Send a scan to reprolabels.com they'll make it into a regular label sheet.

Haha...I don't think it's quite that easy! If only! ;)

And besides...waterslide decals are superior! Well...for models that you're gonna topcoat, anyway. Maybe not so much for toys...
What can one expect to pay for a Takatoku 1/100 VF-1S, with box and accessories? I'm bidding on one now & need to know what I gotta do to win it >:3

Also, wtf is this?

A bootleg of the recent Bandai reissues.

Regarding your 1/100 Valk you want to bid on, make sure the box has "Takatoku" written on it. Otherwise it's likely another bootleg.
It definitely says Takatoku. I just want to know what they typically go for so I can know what exactly to bid.

it's beautiful
The red plastic looks super... plastic-y. Needs a candy painted finish like on the newest Hot Toys' Iron Man.

Introducing Prometheus Rising Studio.

I make 3D printed mecha action figures.

It needs nothing, you twit! It's gorgeous!
