The problem with shit like the V Gundam MG is that while out of the box it looks cool and functions well, it's next to worthless as a 'real' model. The second you try and put paint on any of those internal bits, things are going to stick and scrape and break and you'll ruin the kit. It's a pain in the ass to have to build all of that internal stuff if you have to leave it bare plastic and can only really paint half of the kit (the outside). I've done it, but it makes the whole process take about twice as long as it should.

Well, I for one think that this is awesome. Easily the best MG release of the year. About time the Victory had a perfectly-transforming model made.

Wait a minute...

Lol, all jokes aside, this kit is sweet.

And Anavel, you didn't give me a chance to edit my post.

are you serious? Does it actually have those shitty old hands?
I like the design of the Victory itself, I'm just personally not a fan of it's transformation scheme.
>I'm just personally not a fan of it's transformation scheme.

I think it's clever how both the front and back skirt armor connect and are flushed to each other when in jet mode.

This is a problem with a lot of snap-fit kits (and some older kits that actually require glue and paint, but that usually is bad engineering). Try to paint them, and things get damaged if you try to move 'em. I've given up and simply build my kits in (partially) fixed poses...

The V2 Gundam is more super-robot heroic, with the giant golden V on its chest. If only its core fighter attached as the V-fin on the head of a giant Gundam dragon battleship.

if you have the 1/48 v gundam is this kit worth getting?
also did nayone build the PG Gundam Seed robot with the light up engine? Is that a cool one to get?

Are you talking about the PG 00 Gundam? Because that's from Gundam 00. You can tell because of the 0s.

Is it cool? Well..can Mazinger transform into a giant rocket punch? See this, it's even got videos:

I've never wanted a PG kit this bad since the PG GP-01/FB. Having said that, I've finally seen the box in person. It's surprisingly one of the smallest PG boxes I've ever seen. Maybe they found a way to cram more into a compact box, I can't tell until I actually open it up to see how many runners there are.

I've never observed this when watching the series, but after seeing the skeletal frame of the PG 00, it's actually very similar to the EXIA's. Just a few minor differences e.g. the GN-drive module on the chest is now upgraded to a shoulder-mounted twin system. The chest cavity for the GN-drive exists on the PG 00 (you can actually remove the centerpiece to reveal the slot for the GN-drive), meaning to say, Bandai might use this frame for a potential PG EXIA. Yummy. Or maybe a standalone armor set (and optional modules) for the EXIA so we can re-use the PG 00 frame (and GN-Drive). Yummy.

Btw, Dalong's MG V Ka. Gundam review has cool shots of the frame:

OOOOOoooooooooooooooo Do want!
If the V Gundam can come with two heads then the Goku should come with optional Soopah saiyan hair.

gotta have some value
They'll prolly do a battle damaged gi version with the super saiyan hair/ green eyes.

According to the latest Figure Oh, a 1:48 scale RX-78 is in the works for spring. At 37.5cm (15 inches) it'll be teh huge. (Though not as teh huge as the Jumbo Grade series.)

Sounds about right... the JG's are 1/35, so now we can add the 1/48 to the scale lineup.

I'm still interested to hear if anything's going to happen with the massive 1/35 Fix figure they had at some shows this year.

As far as I am aware that is totally intended for mass production, though I haven't heard any firm info as to price/release date.

And Hell must've frozen over because Bandai is finally making an HG 1/144 Gundam X model! ZZ, too.
ZZ got a ton of kits in the early days of HGUC. I guess they were banking on people still owning the original HG ZZ kit.

So is this the start of a HGAU line? Are they playing chicken with the fans by starting with Gundam X? The Gundam X itself got a GFF figure that one time and nothing else as a follow up.

Just give them an excuse to bury the line.
Nooooo

I hope the Gundam X sells a million so they make the Jenice and Crouda and Daughtress and Septem and uh the Gable and the Balient and the Rassvet

damn there are a lot of mecha in X.

Just went to Ngee Khiong to confirm this. This, along with the news of a MG TV type Wing Gundam...

Just saw this:

Some sort of advanced HG with new tech, higher price?
Eh, I actually kind of prefer the 30th anniversary version over this one. Unless it is actually going to look like that out of the box, I'm not interested.

Maybe the racing stripes on the HCM-Pro's weren't as poorly received as I thought...

Either way, I'd much rather have this:

Racing stripes on Gundam have been around for a long time.

There was that HG kit of the RX-78 2 from the 90's that had them.
