Shin SOC News Thread (untouched by the unwashed)

The Anime Collectors Swordfish would be great, but one of the wing folding hinges on mine broke after a couple of times back and forth. It's kinda smallish, about the size of the model kit, I think.

Maybe they'll do a Project BM! 1/6 scale Spike and Swordfish... :3

Was really looking forward to the SOP 'upgrade' for my Anime Collectors' Swordfish! Hard to believe the older toys managed to pack in the landing gears but this premium edition could not. Maybe if they release it as a weathered edition it might have more cachet.

Big-O Expansion Parts are out. Was just notified today by my proxy that they showed up. Can't wait to get them in hand. :D

Fit and finish are typically Bandai good (by which I mean good).

Tell you friend to PayPal me $10 and a $3 Gcrush usury fee, and I'll ship it Sanjeev-style to his/her home in a jiffy.
That really blows about the SOP swordfish, I was thinking about one. :(
Not that I was planning on getting it but still, $100 for the SOP Swordfish and barely any metal. WTH Bandai?

I asked if I have "Time For L-Gaim" but I got "No Reply From The Wind".
Tobikage's three combination buddies are each coming in a separate set?

So Tobikage regular, Tobikage action type, and what's the third one... Zerokage? Is that a Spec release, sounds kinda similar to the Dragonar release.
Ohh, even a Zerokage figure.

Tobikage's one of those shows I hope to see some day. Looks to combine great things in a mecha anime. Plus Toshihiro Hirano was the character design and Koichi Ohata the mecha designer.

whoa. I'm still stoked about the Getter Robo. So happy they did this version. So much better than the Aoshima brick that came out some time ago.

Armor Plus. I might have to spring for that.

I like how Daitarn comes with a >:-D face.

I remember watching Technoman as a kid so I'm uber keen to get my hands on a Tekkaman. I'm going to wait to see a comparison between SPEC & Armor Plus tho.

and Daitarn is definately on the shopping list
Daitarn looks epic as hell. Can't say I care for the vehicle modes, but the bot mode demands respect.

It's Showtime!

I have the Sword Fish II and its definitely pricey, but I still think its a good toy and I just plain like it. Maybe I am a little biased because I like Cowboy Bebop so much. gingaio, you forgot to mention that the gun barrel of the plasma cannon is also metal.

You know, after killing off my Miku thread I should be obliged to withhold this pic for you guys but I'll play nice only because I want the non transformable version of Tobikage.

I am glad you listened to the nobler part of yourself, Vince. Your threat would be about as effective as a philosopher's strike. :)
That Tobikage looks nice! I graciously bow to your generosity Vince!

I don't like that bulked up version though.
I'm really really impressed with that Tobikage. Bandai makes it so hard for me to save money.
Now that you mention it, Bandai and I go way back...and so does my debt.

Though after spending my funds on upgrade sets for my TFs, SOCs seem like a better 'package' deal each time. Except for Big-O, that cost me more than Gunbuster after the add ons.

So, am I correct in assuming that each Ninja Machine (Kurojushi, Houraioh and Bakuryu) will come with either the foldable Tobikage, the action/more sexy looking (non-foldable) Tobikage and Zerokage?
I'm hoping for a DX set of the whole shebang.
GX-52 makes me happy.

Still wondering if Daitarn 3 is going to include the Daitarn Hammer or not it hasn't been included in any pictures thus far or any of the art that I remember either. And there is still the mysterious display stand too so maybe there is hope!

It looks like the Full-action Tobikage will be a different scale then the rest of the figures (expect for Zerokage, perhaps).

-Chogokin Weapons Platform for ~Anima~ Super Eva
The Tobikage stuff looks great.

Man, that show needs to be subbed.

How odd is this....

Since when did Sideshow start carrying the SOC and even odder is that it is listed as being manufactured by Tamashii Nations not Bandai...
I thought that Toynami was the distributor for the Tamashii stuff here in the US....
Very Weird....

Ain't that curious?

I guess Sideshow has an 'ask Sideshow' page, someone might question them but they might not want to reply...

I thought when Toynami made their announcement back in '08 there was a hint that Bandai really didn't want their name on the product, everything was going to be stickered 'Toynami/Tamashii', much like back in the '90s when they first broke into the American anime market as 'Animevillage', trying really hard to keep the Bandai name out of it.

Well, Sideshow has done a bangup job of getting the Hot Toys/Blister Direct and Medicom figures to the American marketplace as 'rare, limited, EXPENSIVE' items, so maybe Bandai figures this is the approach to take, and it'll work THIS TIME FOR SURE!
Maybe they just happened to pick up some stock of Ideon in another deal.
