That "real color version" Soul of Chogokin Xabungle distibuted as a mail-away premium in the "Project The Soul of Chogokin" book is apparently out:

Love the old-school feel of the box art!

THAT is a thing of beauty. Totally nailed the style of the plamo, at least one of the styles.
I wondered how that was going to come out, I'd not seen the 'GX-28R' numbering solicitated at HLJ. So, it's a mail-away. Foo. Oh well. Not like I'm going to be able to afford something like that anytime soon anyway.
So the Blackgarry isn't included and we get the three small size walker machines, huh? Hmmm...I want both!
Woah....I think I would NEED to buy both versions...looks like there's some significant stuff missing...wow...no stand, no broken wings...missing some other stuff...yikes.
I'm a little shocked, actually. the packaging (box illo a seperate issue, and perfect) seems..substandard...for Bandai.
Eh, I'm a whore. I'd still get it.

The stand and the skis too? See, I saw the pic of the tray and how the Walker Machines and the launcher swapped out those parts, but the pic of the stand and all must not have loaded on my sllloooow dial-up connection before I posted. Thanks!
I still think the visor part needed to be a brighter green to match the anime.
OTOH, the pics of Ideon below that are stunning. Holy crap that's a beautiful hunk of toy.

Somehow, I've been primed by the Gundam francise that 'Real Color' meant something more realistic and gritty in appearance. So the brighter blues threw me for a moment. If the repainted colors were more like the super-sidekick Brockery's matt finishing, I might actually consider hunting one down for myself.

It's a mini-vinyl. I don't have it handy, but I'd guess about 4.5"? There's two scales of "robot mode" as well.
On a (semi) serious note, a Jumbo Grade style soft-vinyl of the Irongear would be an amazing sight to behold. I'd actually prefer that to an SOC-style verson, both because it'd be in scale with the SOC Xabungle and because Clover nailed the DX toy pretty well the first time around.

Hey I just realized that I had a cheesey plastic knock-off "Transforming Robot" of the red one when I was a kid. I remember it had those dinky (easily broken) battleship guns.
I'd totally own like every single Vinyl Realistic style robot toy if I could find them more easily. These things just call to me. I need to get off my butt and order one of those vinyl labors.

Don't wait too long! There's 'only'1000 made of the Green version, 500 for the Brown, and now there's 500 being issued for a all-white version (perfect for custom work).

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to move them up in priority on my things to buy list.
