CM's Corporation Legioss/TLEAD.

Yeah, but I can't figure out how it actually *attaches* to the Legioss. Perhaps that hadn't been worked out yet. Personally, I'd think they'd work out some sort of tab that would fit between the locking tabs on the back of the calves, and/or where the upper portion of the calves locks into the lower surface of the pelvis.
Sounds like a job for SHE. Making impossible transformations possible (fuck, that should be their slogan).

I asked if I have "Time For L-Gaim" but I got "No Reply From The Wind".
Thanks, Ray, those were the pics I was talking about. If you look at that connecting boom you'll see that it's too long to fully retract into the housing behind it (the Tread's crotch). Either you have to give it Viagra beforehand or the boom is a separate piece.

I think it connects to the Legioss crotch. It's been a while since I handled mine, but check out the vent there, it's spring loaded and pushes inwards for no apparent reason.

Attended Tommy Yune's Robotech presentation at NYCC with Roger. Toynami Beta pics looks nice:

I've been looking for more news on that, but haven't found any yet.

(I did see picks of the Revoltech Regult there, which some dork carefully put on display with the legs turned backward. Sigh.)
Wasn't it already shown fully painted in January? Now we're back to raw prototypes?

It's pretty bad when they need to put "The Beta is for real!" above it after all these years.
It's actually a step forward. It's a test shot from the production molds, hence the screws and pins.

I noticed that the hip joints look much more robust than they were in the last painted soldier-mode prototype we saw. Gotta have a strong inner pin on those hip joints, though, or it could go bad like Yamato's original VF-11B.

I really, really like it! It reminds me of Takatoku's toy interpretations of the Orguss Nikick. A little square, but with a really massive feeling.

I'm a little worried about that elbow joint. Materials and potential binding between paint and poly-caps could be a real issue there.

Thanks, Roger!
Remember we're talking about a Toynami product. All this talk about strong joints and potential paint binding just seems like sarcasm.

I *was* going to buy the Beta Fighter, but my mother feels that I'm not going to get anything from it...

Matthewalt "I actually kinda LIKE that approach! You know: let's make a TOY. Remember those? Products designed to be played with without breaking? DO YOU REMEMBER, LOVE?!"
So they've totally given up on making the chest look correct?
Hard to say since we didn't get any current robot mode pics (the ones in the slideshow were from Wonderfest, over a year ago), but to me the plane's nosecone looks like it might be slimmed down so that it can tuck inside the chest properly.

Any update on the Cyclone while you where there?
No update, other than the fact that the Robotech store is selling some of the Megahouse ones.
It's getting dark...

Ahh, Bartley type.
And Dark Legioss (although it looks green).
It's the same one they were showing off at Wonderfest. It's a stock green Legioss toy with some new parts (the gray ones).
Mmm. Green Tread, brown bread...

I am loving every iota of this so far.
I'm hoping the CM's Blowsuperior and Fuuke bikes come with bonus parts...

Ha!

My blue legioss/tread set just arrived a few hours ago. $260 shipped. Worth it? To me, resoundingly, yes. Yes. Beautiful, fun, feels endlessly durable. Nice and clicky. I'm in awe.

That's amazing! Thanks for posting, Rog.

I've never heard of canned bread.

Can you please tell me if it's a Japan-only online exclusive, or is it something that stores like Betatoys will get?

Thanks,
Chieh
how can i get the red set? will it be general release?
over-drive-inc.com and hlj.com both have the red set in stock now.

DARK LEGIOSS! being sold beta-less for 12,800 yen.

Where and when? It looks great.

I confess that I haven't even taken the CM's Legioss out of the box, but I play with the Tread all the time.
I'm feeling the jungle fever. Rowr.

Advance sale at wonderfest, regular sale later next month (i think)
I think to myself, "But I don't need a dark Legioss." Then I look at those pics again, and I search for a pre-order.

Blast.

I would like to buy this figure, but I feel that the price is still to high. CM's Ingram was sold for the same price, is almost solid Diecast, has the light up gimmick, and a display stand. This thing is about the same size, and 95% plastic. :-/
Yes but it's "special" plastic with the blood and semen of Aramaki mixed in. That's what makes it more expensive.

Is this so it can be used to produce little Legiosses?
So it's a rare toy cum collectible.
FYI... Beta Fighter is up for Preorder at Robotech.com for $149.99 with a listed release date of October/November 2008. The Red and Green are set to release later.
HLJ has the Dark Legioss up for pre-order:
