It surprised me watching some of these recently on Netflix. Almost every episode ends up with one of the bad girl band mates either burning down the orphanage, cutting the brake lines on the tour bus for Jem and her pals, or setting a bomb to go off during a concert. Are you flipping kidding me? Surprised Rio didn't round up some of his back-then homies and (fill in the blank), thus ending the threat of the Misfits.

My guess is that these kits will be roughly the quality of a Bandai HG kit...or perhaps a Kotobukiya plamo kit. I mean, that seems to be the standard these days, right? MG is asking a bit much...with all the removable panels and crazy internal structure detail--I'm actually a bit surprised you'd want something as intricate as that.

I sure don't. I'm adept at models...I just don't have the time to put THAT much work in...

The first version Shogub Dragun was the same as the original popy one.

The second version is the HK made popy that doesn't fire his arms. In Japan the neutered versions were avaiable in different boxes than the first version releases. There was a Ryger and Dragun in the series, the Ryger not having as many arm parts as well. The second version Dragun and Ryger do not command any sort of premuim above the original relases.

I tihnk the latter version Poseidon did not have the caterpillar legs that folded up and down. They were fixed int eh up position, it came around the same time the missile shapes changed from the original style to those star shaped atrocities.

Does anyone know of a situation where the black came in a regular box? Or with a small sticker (kind of like how the yu-sha variant of the God Reideen was distributed)?
I for one so far know of no exceptions, but I was curious as to whether anyone else has seen specimens with a different box (that was not a switched box situation).
I really hope they are going to be along the lines of Bandai's MG or PG series. Relatively easy to build with results that are almost toy-like in sturdiness.

I bought a full case of Sky Arrows last year for just over $100. I thought it was pretty neat but Sanjeev suggested that "everyone has a case of Sky Arrows". What a kill joy. Funnily enough, at the time, I owned only 1 diecast toy but I owned 8 of them and 2 shipping containers.

I also have a shipping container for the XX-4 jumbo arm attachment but I only have 1 of the actual toy. I'd love to fill the box someday but it seems so wasteful to spend money on a toy I already own.

Was at a large toy show yesterday, and one of the sellers (who had a large contingent of pristine Popy's and Godaikins) was openly mocking one of his recent customers who gave him the "if I had a time machine" dealy about going back and grabbing this and that toy, instead of, say, preventing varied human tragedies and other purer, signifcant pursuits.

It got me to thinking that the guy who probably has the most legit "time machine" redo would be Arthur Sandburg, and it wouldn't revolve around BUYING toys! Given the relevant history, if I were him I'd wake up banging my head against the wall every morning.

Suppose this thread could equally fall under the Market, but here goes:

I know that a couple factory cases of varied chogokin products have been reported to have been unearthed (some fictional, some legit) over the past decade. I just wonder under what circumstances, and conditions of actual possbility, that someone could still come up with a case of unopened Shogun products (for example) such as the collector's size, vehicles, or ST die-casts (regular or 2 in 1)?

I know there are speculators out there, such as those who purchased Star Wars figures back in the 70's by the case and filed them away (I had no idea that the notion of collector's toys was even considered valid back then), but wonder if given the "gold rush" mentality that has grown around Ebay, Antique Roadshow, Toy Hunter, etc., that anything of value has truly been mined from the storage lockers and warehouses where they may have been hiding?

In other words, is it likely that Deadstock is truly dead?

My favorite feature of the Popy Dragun was the spikes on the axes, you can tell they don't trust us Americans not to poke our eyes out with anything nearly that dangerous. I wasn't aware that Popy had released a neutered version of Dragun...begs the question why they would embarass themselves in that manner? It's probably as rare as the Star-Zinger Grendizer ST, and goes for the BIG BUCKS despite its inherent inferiorism.

I think the Sun Vulcan ST is one that is arguably superior to the blocky DX and it's one of my favorites - nice glossy blue paint - beautiful! Google V looks like ASS no matter ST or DX....though I would love to get my hands on the ST variant that has the spring loaded feet...

For me, the classic Getta Dragun is still the quintessential ST - moreso than the GA-01 or the Great Mazinger Shogun version. I mean... you have a spring loaded launching ax WITHIN a spring loaded launching FIST! How awesome is that - and it was never duplicated for any other chogokin since.

I'm also curious about the Popy release of the "Shogunized" Dragun that's without many of its gimmicks. Something tells me that may be rarer than the Popy original?

Heh...well, I definitely prefer plenty of DX's over their ST counterparts. Dairugger, for example. My problem with the DX's is that, unlike the ST's, they're all over the place in terms of size. If they were a bit more uniform like the ST's, I think collectors today would be even crazier about them!
