While the SOC Mazinger is a well-balanced extrapolation of a character designer's initial vision, this SOC Gundam is a dead-ringer clone of what was drawn across the screen.

Bandai's managed to engineer and produce an object which perfecly captures what made the RX-78 so compelling: it's damn sexy legs! 20 years ago, Gundam's biomechanical gam was a giant stride in the evolution of all mechanical design. The signature equine calve, decked out in microwave-safe white has inspired countless rerepresentations.

The bottom line: if you've ever been even remotely into Gundam, pick one of these up...
