THE BEETRAS STORY - from catalog In 1984, strange geological events began to occur all over Earth. These were caused by a battle between the Ekim and the Gaim, humanoid races living deep within our planet in the undiscovered world of Komun. The subterranean captial of Komun is a parallel world to ours, with only a tenth of the surface area and thus five times the gravity of Earth's surface. The highly civilized society and abundant natural resources there had preserved a balance of power between the two races. However, surface-dwellers' disregard of their environment has led to a disruption of this balance, triggering the Great War of Komun. Shocked by the effects on their planet by the war, humanity finally began to take the situation seriously. Karim, an Ekim commander, leads five insect mecha and their human operators, Karma, Kiruro, Tormo, and Lamil, to engage the Gaim in combat on the Earth's surface as the Armored Insect Batallion Beetras. WHAT IS BEETRAS? The Armored Insect Batallion Beetras is the name of a group of warriors selected for their ability to pilot the insect-shaped attack mecha developed by the advanced technology of the Ekim. These attack mecha are variable machines capable of taking three forms during combat: Beet-Attacker for combat; Beet-Hover for reconnaissance; and Beet-Mobile for subterranean movement. They are weapons designed to exhibit the perfect capabilities for any situation, no matter the location on -- or inside -- the Earth.
